Results of the strawberry trial demonstrating the effect of fumigation methods on disease control, as well as its overall yield-boosting effect.

Strawberry

August plantation strawberry cv Elsanta (Tongeren, Belgium 1994-1995)

Classic (i.e. full area) fumigation and plastic film sealing: 16.06.1994; Strip fumigation in combination with plastic film sealing: 15.07.1994; Removal of plastic film sealing after classic fumigation: 15.07.1994; Making plant holes in strip fumigated plastic: 10.08.1994; Planting date: 17.08.1994. Methylbromide (MeBr) was still used at the former high standard dose of 9 kg/are or 9 kg/100 m.

Classic (i.e. full area) fumigation: 06.07.1995; Strip fumigation in combination with black plastic film sealing: 17.07.1995; Planting date: 10.08.1995. Methylbromide (MeBr) was still used at the former high standard dose of 9 kg/are. Verticillium pressure was low.
